MOVIE AND TV SET FAUX FINISH TO YOUR HOME

Please allow to introduce myself..Im not a man of wealth and fame...

Name is Leonard Ralph Paul Grant..why so many names you ask??

Well I'll tell you about that later..thats another website..Just call me Grant. for now

Look over to the left ..a picture of a bartop I woodgrained for a Walt Disney Show ,,,Look at that 45% angle I"ll show you how to do that too.

For over  30 years I have worked with the Motion Picture Industry as  a set painter out of  Local 729 Motion Picture Set Painters and Signwriters.. The local is always looking for new talent ..Located out in Burbank Ca.USA.

I have worked on movies from Day of the Locust my First Movie to Friends and hundred more..In my line of work you must learn many types of faux finish work such as woodgraining, marbleliizing rag rolling, wall paper hanging, aging antique finishing, the list goes on and on but you know you can't learn them all at once little by little if its in your heart to be creative you will learn much quicker.

I say I was very lucky to have good teachers thru out the years and I give them all the credit.

A FEW MASTERS OF THE ART OF FAUX FINISH DECORATING

Eddie Freeman,Gary Osborne,John Benadello Sr., Richard Puga, Harvey Jackson and Ward Welton. Most of  these masters of the trade have past on..Lord bless them.their talent still lives and is expressed through the few who were fortunate to learn from them

NOW FROM THE MOVIE AND TV SETS TO YOUR HOME

THE ART OF WOODGRAINING.

I'm passing on my learnings to  all of you out there

I'm going to start off with teaching you the art of wood graining which is just a (simulation) of the real wood but many times looks better this proccess you can perform on to old exisisting doors in you home window, casings, cabinets, furniture and many other things.i will teach you all the basics as simple as ABC and from A-Z. .. sounds simple already.I am presently working on a video just for all of you who are interested in the decorating art of woodgraining ..if you have any questions about my page or need any advice in any projects you are or about to start feel free to reach me at my email on this page,

I remember years ago back in the 1970's i was working at paramount Studios at the time.. I picked up a old door laying out in front of some ones curb ..waiting for the trash truck ..but i got there first..I. took this old door it to my garage and in about 3 hrs that door was a master piece ..later sold to my neigbor he was like wow and he also watched me woodgrain ...now hes woodgraining for the studios..

If you are just a bit artistic and like to be creative you will really enjoy the process as well as the  gratification..

the result of creating something everyone will see when they come to your home If they ask you how you did it tell them it was nothingt..lord its hard to be humble at timesi.Well got to go for now ...

Keep on Decorating...

Don;t throw away that old furniture  you can do wonder with it

remember you can do the most with the least...I try and do it all the timeI do it all the time

granpa always use to say "make the best of what you have"

GET CREATIVE

what you have in your heart is much more  than what you have in your hand..
